El Paso Children’s Hospital brought a little magic to its young patients on Thursday with a ‘Holidays in July’ hallway parade. Community members dressed up and brought goodies to brighten up the children’s day.
A Fun Twist on Christmas in July
The hospital put its own twist on Christmas in July by dressing up for other holidays like St. Patrick’s Day and Fourth of July. The event aims to bring joy and normalcy to the children’s lives while they are in the hospital.
According to Director of the Pediatric ICU Kristine Tejeda, the parade started four years ago and has become one of the hospital’s biggest events. ‘It’s very fun for the kids, and it’s very important to remember that at the end of the day, they’re still kids,’ Tejeda said.
