El Paso Celebrates 4th of July at Ascarate Park

El Paso County will host a 4th of July celebration at Ascarate Park, marking the country’s 250th anniversary. The event will feature food trucks, an open swimming pool, music, and fireworks.

The park will have a public swimming session from 12-5 p.m., with adult admission costing $3 and youth admission costing $2. A variety of food options will be available east of the lake in the Special Events area from 3-10 p.m.

A Picnic Party will offer a nice view of the fireworks, with tickets including dinner from Clasico, a parking pass, door prizes, games, and live music. Tickets for adults cost $45, while youth admission costs $10 for ages 6-17. Children under 5 years old do not need a ticket, but a dinner plate is not included.

Fireworks will start at 9:20 p.m. on the west side of the lake. Picnic shelters are free on a first-come-first serve basis, but can be reserved for a fee starting at $50, with a deadline of June 30. Parking will be limited to 2,000 cars, with a cost of $5.

The first 250 guests will receive a special coin marking the country’s 250th anniversary. Fort Bliss’s military fleet will be on display, and the 1st Armored Division Band will play music.
