Edmond Police Pursuit Ends with Arrest After Suspect Hits Officer’s Car

In Edmond, Oklahoma, a routine traffic stop turned into a high-stakes police chase on Sunday afternoon. The incident began shortly before 3:10 p.m. when a suspect fled from officers during a stop near the OU Medical Center Edmond, located at Bryant Avenue and Second Street.

The suspect, attempting to evade law enforcement, collided with another officer’s vehicle before speeding onto Bryant Avenue. The Edmond police officers pursued the suspect, leading to a dramatic chase that extended to East 15th Street. It was there, in front of the Spring Creek Village shopping area, that officers executed a tactical vehicle maneuver to bring the suspect’s car to a halt.

After the suspect’s vehicle spun out and came to a stop in the middle of the road, officers approached with their weapons drawn. Following several commands, the suspect complied and was taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect faces several complaints, including felony eluding, assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful carry of a weapon. As formal charges have yet to be filed, the suspect’s name has not been released by KOCO 5.
