East Union Tigers Host Lenox Eagles in Week 4 Wild Card Football Showdown

Southwest Iowa high school football fans will gather Friday night for the KCCI Week 4 Wild Card matchup, as voters on the station’s Facebook page chose East Union to host the Lenox Eagles. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Lenox’s field, offering a showcase of two high‑scoring programs.

Team records and recent performance

East Union arrives at the contest undefeated at 2‑0, having defeated Wayne and Seymour earlier in the season. The Tigers’ offense has been prolific, posting a combined 116‑22 point differential against those opponents.

Lenox, coming off a loss to Woodbine and a defeat by Bedford, rebounded with a 44‑20 victory over Murray last week. The Eagles are looking to build momentum and prove they belong among the state’s top teams.

Key players to watch

Junior quarterback Braxdyn Tucker leads East Union with a dual‑threat performance. He completed 22 of 33 passes for 367 yards and six touchdowns without an interception, and he added 216 rushing yards on 21 carries with four rushing scores.

On the receiving side, sophomore Caden Clear posted a team‑high ten catches for 154 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Clear also contributed nine tackles, including 4.5 for loss.

Lenox’s offense is anchored by junior quarterback Brogan Petersen, who went 24‑for‑50 for 335 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception. Running back Junior Wylie Brokaw contributed 139 rushing yards and two scores, while wide receiver Junior Jack Reed led the Eagles with seven receptions for 105 yards and three touchdowns.

Last season’s matchup and stakes

East Union holds a recent edge, having beaten Lenox 22‑18 in the previous season’s encounter. This week’s game offers both squads a chance to solidify their playoff positioning and showcase the talent that has drawn attention from college scouts.

Fans can follow highlights from the game in KCCI’s Friday Night Hype coverage, which will feature key plays and post‑game analysis. The Wild Card format, driven by community voting, underscores the importance of local engagement in high school athletics.

How to watch

The game will be streamed live on KCCI’s digital platforms, and a replay will be available on the station’s YouTube channel. Viewers are encouraged to download the free KCCI app for real‑time updates and alerts.

With both teams eager to prove themselves, Friday’s showdown promises an exciting night of football for families, alumni, and supporters across the region.
