Fayette County residents eager to exercise their right to vote can start early voting today, Thursday, at any of the county’s six library locations. The early‑voting period runs through Saturday, giving voters three full days to submit paper ballots before Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Convenient locations and hours
All six libraries will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for early voting. Voters may cast their ballots at any library regardless of precinct, simplifying the process for families and busy professionals alike.
Clerk’s preparation and confidence
Fayette County Clerk Susan Lamb praised her office’s months‑long preparation. “It takes the same amount of preparation for us to do any election, whether it’s the primary or the November election, whether we have a 20 % turnout or we have a 60 % turnout,” Lamb said. “My team, they’re small, but they’re mighty, and our 1,100 election officers are ready to go and we are excited about this election.”
Lamb added that voter turnout has risen in recent cycles and she would not be surprised if early voting exceeds 40,000 participants.
Ballot details
This year’s ballot features 24 races, a constitutional amendment and three ballot questions. Because of the ballot’s length, Lamb urged voters to review their sample ballots ahead of time. “We really urge people to get your sample ballot to read it before you get there. So it’s going to take people a little bit longer because of the length of the ballot to fill out their ballots,” she said.
Sample ballots are available on the Fayette County Clerk’s website, allowing voters to familiarize themselves with the contests and questions before heading to a library.
Why early voting matters
Early voting provides flexibility for families, seniors, and working citizens who may find it difficult to vote on Election Day. By spreading voting over several days, the county helps reduce lines, promotes safety, and encourages higher participation—principles that align with the community’s commitment to civic responsibility.
What’s next
Early voting will continue through Saturday at all six library sites. Election Day voting locations and hours will be posted on the county’s official website. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, bring proper identification, and cast their ballots early to ensure their voices are heard.
