If a school bus is stopped with its stop arm out on a multilane road without a paved, raised median, traffic in both directions must come to a complete stop. This rule applies to roads like Beaver Street and Lane Avenue, where cameras recorded 117 and 54 violations, respectively.
A third hotspot was the 3200 block of Sans Pareil, a divided highway where drivers traveling in the opposite direction can proceed with caution, but those traveling in the same direction as the bus must still stop. Starting August 10, drivers caught illegally passing a Duval County school bus will face a $225 fine.
