An adult male was recovered from Chatfield Reservoir in Littleton, Colorado, after drowning while trying to save children who had fallen into the water. According to officials, an inner tube overturned, and three children, all wearing life jackets, began to struggle in the water. The adult male, who was not wearing a life jacket, jumped into the reservoir to assist and went underwater. Boaters were able to rescue the children.
The Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Marine Evidence Recovery Team recovered the victim from the water around 1 p.m. Friday after a 19-hour search. CPW says they are now investigating the incident as a boating accident.
