Bridged, a local nonprofit organization, will host a free resource event for people with disabilities on Aug. 23 in Greenville.
Empowering Families and Individuals
The 3rd Annual Disability Resource Expo will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Greenville Convention Center. The event will feature more than 115 local and state organizations providing disability services.
According to Allison Huffstutler, co-founder of Bridged, the event is designed for everyone, including those who have been recently diagnosed, are planning for adulthood, or are educators seeking to better support students.
The South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council serves as the presenting sponsor of the Disability Resource Expo. Valerie Bishop, director of the SC Developmental Disabilities Council, emphasized the importance of resources for families navigating a world for their children with disabilities.
