The Arizona Diamondbacks routed the San Diego Padres 8-0 on Monday night, with Max Kepler, Geraldo Perdomo, and Nolan Arenado hitting home runs. Brandon Pfaadt pitched five shutout innings, allowing four hits and striking out six.
Diamondbacks’ Offense
The Diamondbacks’ offense started strong, with Ketel Marte lining a leadoff triple to center and Perdomo being plunked by a pitch. Perdomo took off for second with Corbin Carroll hitting, and an error by the Padres’ shortstop allowed Marte to score.
In the third inning, the Diamondbacks broke the game open with four runs. Carroll doubled, followed by a single from Gabriel Moreno and an RBI single from Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Kepler then hit a three-run homer to right field, his first of the year.
Perdomo made it 7-0 in the fourth with his sixth home run of the season, and Arenado started the sixth with his 10th home run of the season.
