The DeSoto Parish School Board has unanimously voted to extend the employment contract of Superintendent Clay Corley. Corley has been at the helm since May 2018. The extension approved at Thursday night’s board meeting takes him through Dec. 31, 2028.
His current contract expires Dec. 31, 2027. Corley’s compensation is unchanged since his March 7, 2024 contract. He’s eligible for step increases, percentage increases or any other raises provided to certificated employees, according to the employment contract.
He was hired at an annual salary of $167,000. According to the board’s audit released in April, Corley’s total compensation for the fiscal year ending June 20, 2025, was $295,668. That includes a salary of $218,492, retirement benefits of $21,148, along with insurance, Medicare and travel reimbursements.
