Jackson, WY — At its October 14 meeting, the town’s Design Review Committee (DRC) voted to keep the Mogul Capital project under review rather than move it toward approval or denial. The decision means the proposal will return to the committee for further scrutiny.
Project overview
The Mogul Capital development consists of five buildings, labeled A through E, that would span North Cache, Glenwood, Perry and Mercill streets. The DRC had previously deferred action at its September 9 meeting because members felt the project’s overall scale felt too monumental.
Committee concerns
Committee members noted that the revised design shows improvement, but they still want a clearer composition and more consistent use of materials, especially for Building A. The committee was shown simplified roof forms and other revisions intended to streamline Building A’s appearance. While progress was acknowledged, members described the building’s composition as “chaotic” and “uncomfortable,” and called for a more logical connection between its massing, materials and window placement.
Next steps
No date has been set for the next DRC review of the Mogul Capital project. The committee will continue to evaluate the design revisions and seek additional clarification before making a final recommendation.
