Sayers Park in Des Moines has reopened with new features after undergoing upgrades inspired by neighborhood feedback. The park now includes a half-basketball court, a half-mini pitch court, a spray ground, and playgrounds.
According to Josh Mandelbaum, Des Moines City Council member, “We’ve taken what was, you know, no offense, a sleepy park and made it a gem. I mean, this park has something for everyone, and this is part of how you create a community that works for everyone.”
Originally built in 1960, Sayers Park is located on Linden Lane near Southwest 14th Street. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
