A portion of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway is temporarily closed on the north side of Des Moines after a crash that injured one person. According to Des Moines police, the crash left a utility pole blocking MLK Jr. Parkway just north of Hickman Road.
The nearest north-south alternative while the road is closed is 6th Avenue. The cause of the crash and the condition of the injured person were not immediately available.
