The Des Moines City Council has approved a 50-year ground lease for the site of a professional soccer stadium. Under the agreement, the Iowa Soccer Development Foundation will pay the city about $656,000 each year.
Stadium Details
The 5,500-seat soccer stadium and an adjoining public plaza will be built on a former superfund site just south of the downtown area. Men’s and women’s teams will play at the stadium, which is set to open by 2029.
