Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., has accused the Pentagon of murder in boat strikes targeting alleged drug traffickers. In a letter to President Donald Trump, Kaine suggested that the administration’s boat strikes have killed people who were not participating in narcotrafficking.

Pentagon’s Response

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly responded, stating that President Trump has taken unprecedented action to stop the scourge of narcoterrorism that has resulted in the needless deaths of innocent Americans. The U.S. military has conducted dozens of deadly strikes against vessels of alleged narcoterrorists.

Kaine’s letter also mentioned that the target list for these strikes is classified, and the classification of the list means that those being targeted are entirely unaware that they are marked for execution. The senator asked the president to look into the extent to which the leadership of the Department of Defense has exceeded his July 2025 directive and to halt this operation.
