A death investigation is underway in Margate, Florida, after authorities found a body on a roadway. Video shows officers blocking the area at Atlantic Boulevard and State Road 7, which has since reopened.
At least three units were seen enclosing the area where a blue tarp covered what appeared to be a body on a stretcher. Police have not said what led to the person’s death or released their identity.
Officers were also seen talking to a driver nearby, but their involvement in the investigation was not immediately clear. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the death.
