The De La Vina Street Bridge Over Mission Creek Replacement Project in Santa Barbara, California, is progressing with the final phase of work on the west end of the bridge. According to Adam Ziets, Project Engineer, the first phase is expected to be completed by the end of summer or early fall. This phase includes paving De La Vina Street and switching one-way traffic to the right side of the street.

Project Updates

People passing by the work zone have noticed the newly constructed sidewalk, concrete railing, and creek walls on the west end of the project. Additionally, sewer, water, and gas infrastructures are now in place. Crews are currently installing underground utilities.

Local businesses, including Urgent Veterinary Care of Santa Barbara, have been impacted by the construction. However, all businesses along De La Vina Street remain open, with parking available off Vernon Street and throughout the neighborhood.

Next Phase

Phase 2 of the project will focus on the east end of the bridge, near Handlebar Coffee, and is expected to be completed next year.
