Rochelle Dickerson, the owner of PoohBear’s House of Hugs daycare, is seeking a new location after a truck crashed into her building in April. The daycare, which was located at the corner of East 10th Street and North Emerson Avenue, has been closed since the incident.
A New Beginning
Dickerson is determined to reopen her daycare in a new location, but she needs help to cover the costs. She has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise the necessary funds. The new location would be at East 21st Street and North Emerson Avenue, just a few blocks away from the original site.
PoohBear’s House of Hugs was more than just a daycare to Dickerson. It was a tribute to her late son, Rodriquez ‘Pooh’ Anderson, who was found dead in his car on the east side of Indianapolis in 2018. Dickerson’s son had been instrumental in helping her find the original location for the daycare.
Dickerson is not giving up on her dream of providing a safe and nurturing environment for children. She is working hard to raise the necessary funds to reopen her daycare in the new location. With the help of her community, she hopes to create a new and improved space for children to learn and grow.
