Kyle Bitterman, a grocery worker from Davenport, won the 39th Annual Best Bagger Contest held at the Iowa State Fair. The competition, organized by the Iowa Grocers Association, took place on the stage of the Susan Knapp Amphitheater.
The Contest
Bitterman won the contest by bagging 30 items in under a minute. When asked about his strategy, he said, ‘Not to think about it too much, just get the groceries in the bag, and have fun.’ This was his first time competing in the contest, and he has worked at a Hy-Vee in Davenport for about three years.
Bitterman will now have the opportunity to compete at the national level in Las Vegas. He told KCCI it will be his first time going to Las Vegas.
