A pretrial hearing in the murder case of Dallas rapper MO3 revealed that detective Eric Barnes believes Yella Beezy’s lyrics support the theory that MO3’s death was a murder-for-hire plot. Barnes pointed to specific songs, including ‘Hitters,’ ‘Keep It in the Streets,’ and ‘On Your Head,’ which reference paying for violence and putting money on someone’s head.
Case Details
Yella Beezy, whose real name is Markies DeAndre Conway, is charged with capital murder in connection to MO3’s 2020 murder. The alleged shooter, Kewon White, appeared on stage with Conway at a concert shortly before the murder, which Barnes said showed White was trusted by Conway. Barnes also testified about Conway’s comments in a DJ Vlad interview, where he mentioned needing to ‘get my lick back,’ which Barnes believed showed a motive.
The next pretrial hearing is set for July 24, with the trial scheduled for August 24.
