Fathers gathered at Water Country in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to participate in the annual Father’s Day Flop contest. The event, which also marked the first day of summer, drew 50 contestants who competed to win prizes for the best belly flop.

The contestants were judged on splash level, style, and overall floppiness of the flop. Water Country employee Emma Pare said, ‘Here at Water Country, it’s a big hit. I mean, some years we started with four contestants, now we’re up to 50 floppers this year. There are a lot of dads here showing their best skills.’
One competitor, Dave Waniski, said his children signed him up for the contest on the way in. The event was a fun way for families to spend time together and celebrate Father’s Day.
