Curacao, the smallest nation to ever qualify for the World Cup, is training at Florida Atlantic University’s football stadium in Boca Raton for the next couple of weeks as they prepare to make history in their first tournament appearance.

On Tuesday night, 5,000 fans attended an open training session at FAU Stadium for free, showing their support for the team. Curacao is focused on heart and determination as they aim to make a name for themselves on soccer’s biggest stage.

Florida Atlantic University men’s soccer coach Joey Worthen shared his thoughts on the experience of watching the team train. “Biggest thing, soak up the whole experience. Wouldn’t have seen anyone train this high level. Things stand out, goals scored, big save, the whole experience, how they conduct and off the ball and fitness level and number of different things,” Worthen said.
