As the 10-year anniversary of the Chicago Cubs’ World Series win approaches, Anthony Rizzo is giving back to his community. Rizzo, who signed a one-day contract to retire as a Cub, has been attending Cubs games and recording a podcast with former teammate David Ross.
Rizzo’s Community Involvement
Rizzo recently partnered with Abbott and Real Madrid to help rising soccer stars in Chicago. The 16 selected members of the Abbott Dream Team will travel to Spain for an all-expenses-paid trip to train at Real Madrid’s facilities.
‘Giving back in the community here in Chicago means the world to me,’ Rizzo said. ‘These kids getting an opportunity to go to Real Madrid, practice, and train there is pretty special.’ Rizzo emphasized the importance of nutrition, saying it’s ‘one of the most important things’ for athletes to focus on.
