The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced two separate recalls that could impact consumers nationwide. Both recalls involve products that, if misused or defective, may cause serious injuries or even death.
Avengers Infinity Gauntlet medals recalled
The Conqueror, the company behind the Avengers Infinity Gauntlet medals, is recalling approximately 476 units. Each medal contains high‑powered magnets that have been reported to detach. If a magnet is swallowed, multiple magnets can attract each other inside the digestive tract, potentially leading to intestinal perforations, blockages, blood poisoning, or fatal outcomes.
Three reports of magnets detaching have been logged, though no injuries have been confirmed to date. The medals were sold through the Conqueror app and the website TheConqueror.events between March and May 2026 at a price of about $50 each.
Consumers who own these medals should immediately stop using them. The company is offering a full refund or replacement. To receive the refund, owners must cut the ribbon attached to the medal, label both pieces “RECALLED,” and submit a photograph of the items before disposal.
Snow Peak Takibi propane fireplace inserts recalled
Snow Peak USA is recalling roughly 100 Takibi propane fireplace inserts along with the accompanying lava rocks. The lava rocks can ignite and explode when heated, creating fire and burn hazards. One incident resulted in minor property damage, but no injuries were reported.
The fireplace inserts were sold on SnowPeak.com in July 2026 for about $350 each. Consumers should cease using the inserts immediately. Snow Peak will provide a full refund, including prepaid return shipping, or owners may request replacement lava rocks. The propane insert should not be used until the replacement rocks arrive.
How to proceed with a recall
Both companies have provided clear instructions for returning the recalled items. Consumers should follow the specific steps outlined by each manufacturer to ensure a safe and prompt refund. If you have purchased either product, do not attempt to repair or modify the items yourself.
Recalls like these underscore the importance of staying informed about product safety alerts. The CPSC encourages shoppers to register new purchases, keep receipts, and regularly check for recall notices, especially for items that contain small parts, magnets, or combustible materials.
For additional information, visit the CPSC website or contact the manufacturers directly. Protecting families and preventing accidents remains a top priority for both the CPSC and the companies involved.
