Constance Fromagerie & Café, located in Northwest Akron’s Pilgrim Square, offers a unique dining experience with its make-your-own charcuterie boards and seasonal beverages. The cafe is owned by Rachel Balko, who was inspired by her love of charcuterie boards and European cuisine.
Creating a Charcuterie Board
Customers can choose from a variety of cheeses, meats, and dips to create their own charcuterie board. Balko recommends selecting a variety of textures and colors to create a visually appealing board. The cafe also offers a range of seasonal beverages, including an iced strawberry rose matcha.
The charcuterie board is a wonderful mix of salty, sweet, sharp, and creamy flavors, with a variety of ingredients such as cured meats, nuts, olives, and fresh fruit. The iced strawberry rose matcha is a refreshing and springy drink that complements the charcuterie board nicely.
About the Owner
Rachel Balko, the owner of Constance Fromagerie & Café, was born and raised in Fairlawn and spent several years working as a musical theater actress in New York. She got into charcuterie boards while living in New York and decided to open her own business after moving back to Northeast Ohio.
Balko named the cafe after her grandmother, who was known for her hospitality and ability to take care of everyone. The cafe is designed to be a welcoming and inviting space, with comfortable seating, soft lighting, and vases of fresh flowers throughout.
