The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CMVA) WY 36‑1 is gathering its members, supporters and families for a community fundraiser this Saturday, November 7, at Oil City Beer Company in downtown Casper. The event, called the Freedom Rock Fundraiser, is designed to raise money for the Association’s Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, which helps veterans, their spouses, children and grandchildren pursue higher‑education degrees.
What to expect
Attendees will enjoy a live and silent auction, a bake sale, and a performance by local band Mastermind of Monkey. In addition, retired Army Military Police First Sergeant and award‑winning chef Sid Glanz will be on hand to sign copies of his debut cookbook, Order Up. The chef’s signed copies are expected to sell quickly, so guests are encouraged to arrive early.
Scholarship fund details
The Auxiliary Scholarship Fund is funded by dues and donations from CMVA members and their families. Scholarships are unrestricted, provided the recipient enrolls in an accredited institution of higher learning and works toward an associate’s degree or higher during the award year. Eligible applicants include CMVA members, their spouses, widows, legal children, stepchildren and grandchildren.
Why it matters
CMVA, a registered 501(c)(19) veterans’ charity, supports combat veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who share a love of motorcycling. The organization regularly sponsors and participates in veteran‑focused charity events, directing resources to individual veterans, veteran care facilities and other nonprofit groups that serve those who have defended our freedoms.
By bringing together the veteran community, their families and local businesses, the Freedom Rock Fundraiser reinforces the strong family and faith values that underpin Casper’s neighborhoods. It also provides a safe, family‑friendly environment where residents can enjoy music, food and fellowship while contributing to a cause that directly benefits local veterans and their families.
How to get involved
Anyone interested in supporting the scholarship fund can attend the event, make a donation, or purchase items from the auction and bake sale. For those unable to attend, CMVA accepts online contributions through its website, combatvet.us. The organization also welcomes volunteers to help with event setup, auction management and other logistical needs.
