Colorado State Patrol launches public safety survey, open through Sept. 25

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is inviting Coloradans who have had direct contact with its troopers to share their experiences in a new public‑safety survey. The bi‑annual questionnaire went live on Tuesday and will remain open through Sept. 25.

Why the survey matters

Every two years CSP conducts an online poll to gauge how well it is serving the community. By asking drivers, pedestrians, and other residents who have interacted with patrol officers for feedback, the agency hopes to identify strengths and areas for improvement in its statewide safety operations.

How to participate

The survey is designed to be quick and straightforward, with CSP estimating that it will take less than five minutes to complete. Participants can access the questionnaire through the link provided on the agency’s website. No personal identifying information beyond basic demographic data is required, and responses are kept confidential.

What happens next

CSP has pledged to compile the results and share a summary with the public in January 2027. The agency says the findings will inform training, resource allocation, and community‑engagement strategies across Colorado’s 64 counties.

Community response

Local leaders and community groups have welcomed the opportunity for direct input. “We appreciate CSP’s commitment to listening to the people they serve,” said a spokesperson for the Colorado Association of Counties. “Feedback from everyday Coloradans helps ensure that law‑enforcement practices align with the values of our families and neighborhoods.”

Critics of state‑wide law‑enforcement agencies sometimes argue that surveys can be a public‑relations exercise rather than a catalyst for real change. CSP counters that the survey’s results will be reviewed by an independent advisory board, which includes representatives from faith‑based organizations, business groups, and citizen watchdogs.

How to stay informed

Residents interested in the survey’s outcomes can follow CSP’s official social‑media channels or sign up for email updates on the agency’s website. The survey link will remain active until the deadline, giving anyone who has interacted with a state patrol officer a chance to have their voice heard.
