Preliminary results are in for Colorado’s 2026 state primary, with a major race remaining too close to call. Current Attorney General Phil Weiser defeated U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet in the race for the Democratic ticket for governor. As of 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Weiser had received just over 460,000 votes.
Republican Ticket Still Undecided
The Republican ticket is still undecided, as the race between Barb Kirkmeyer, Victor Marx, and Scott Bottoms remains too close to call. Kirkmeyer and Marx both hold 40% of the vote, with Kirkmeyer ahead as of 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 1.
Not all the votes have been counted yet. If the race remains too close to call, the votes will be recounted. If no winner can be decided after that, a runoff of the top two candidates will take place, according to officials.
