Collin College’s Technical Campus is holding its sixth annual Preview Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18. The event is open to prospective students and community members who want to learn about campus programs, facilities and career pathways.

Attendees can get information on a variety of programs, such as automotive technology, pharmacy technician, computer-aided drafting and design, and the Bachelor of Applied Science in construction management. College staff will also be on hand to explain partnership pathways with Texas A&M University, Texas State University and The University of Texas at Dallas for students planning to continue their education.

A car meet running from 9 a.m. to noon will highlight the campus’s automotive training and the industry connections that help prepare students for technician roles. The car meet is designed to showcase hands-on opportunities and give visitors a closer look at the vehicles and equipment students work with.

Throughout the day, departments will host demonstrations and interactive displays. Examples include virtual welding simulators, advanced robotics demonstrations — featuring a robotic dog — and presentations from engineering, computer science and engineering technology programs. Guests can also tour labs with 2D and 3D printing used by interior design and drafting students, and speak with instructors from architecture and construction programs.

Food and drinks will be available on campus: the on-site Starbucks will serve breakfast and the Cougar Café will offer lunch.
