Charli, a longtime fixture in Aggieland, has closed its doors after 52 years of serving generations of customers through milestones including proms, weddings, and first dates.
Owner Charli Light announced the closure in early May, stating she was ready to spend more time with her grandchildren. The boutique celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024, when the mayors of Bryan and College Station proclaimed July 12 as “Charli Light Day” in recognition of Light’s contributions to the community.
