The Clark County Charter Review Commission, an elected body of 15 members, has passed 10 amendments in expectation of being placed on the November 2026 general election ballot. One of these amendments, 26-24, would make the county manager’s annual report mandatory and publicly accessible.
Amendment 26-24 Details
This amendment was sponsored by Patrick Adigweme of District 1 and passed 14-1. If approved by voters, it would require an annual report from the county manager, replacing permissive language with mandatory language and adding the words ‘and publish broadly’ to ensure the report is accessible to the general public.
According to Adigweme, this amendment strengthens public transparency. During his campaign, he heard from several residents who could not find the annual report, highlighting the need to guarantee access to this critical information.
The meeting on July 8 was to listen to public comment and vote on the amendments. The sponsor of each amendment gave a brief argument, but there were no discussions among the commissioners, as those discussions had taken place in previous meetings.
