Cincinnati Social Services Day to Offer Resources at Reds Youth Academy

The Greater Cincinnati community will host its seventh annual Social Services Day on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Reds Youth Academy on East Seymour Avenue. The event is designed to bring together public, private and nonprofit agencies so families and individuals can access a range of assistance in one convenient location.

What services will be available

Attendees can expect booths and representatives offering information on transportation options, nutrition programs, job‑training opportunities, educational resources and additional support services. Organizers say the goal is to reduce the steps a resident must take to find help, allowing people to connect directly with agencies that can improve quality of life.

City leadership backs the effort

Cincinnati City Councilmember Meeka Owens highlighted the importance of the day for building trust between the city and its residents. “It’s about removing barriers, building trust and ensuring that residents have direct access to these services to improve quality of life,” Owens said in a statement.

How to participate

The event is open to anyone in the Greater Cincinnati area who could benefit from the resources offered. No appointment is required; visitors can simply walk in during the scheduled hours. Organizers encourage families, seniors, veterans and anyone facing economic or logistical challenges to attend.

Why the event matters

By consolidating services in a single venue, the Social Services Day aims to address the fragmented nature of assistance programs that often leave residents unsure where to turn. The collaborative approach reflects a broader community effort to support traditional families and uphold individual liberty by ensuring that help is readily accessible.

Local nonprofits, government agencies and private partners have pledged to staff the day, reinforcing the message that a united front can make a tangible difference in everyday lives. The Reds Youth Academy, a facility that already serves youth sports and recreation, will provide the space needed for the many participating organizations.

Residents who plan to attend should bring identification and any relevant paperwork that may be required for specific programs, such as proof of income for nutrition assistance or a résumé for job‑training inquiries. Volunteers will be on hand to guide visitors through the process and answer questions.

For more information, individuals can contact the event coordinators through the City of Cincinnati’s official website or follow updates on the city’s social‑media channels.
