Le Bar a Boeuf, a French restaurant on Victory Parkway in East Walnut Hills, is closing its doors. The restaurant was founded by the late renowned chef Jean-Robert de Cavel, who died after a battle with cancer in 2022.
The restaurant featured some of Jean-Robert’s favorite offerings and was one of the most well-known French dining spots in the area. Officials haven’t shared a reason for the closure.
de Cavel began his culinary life in France and came to Cincinnati in 1993 to become the head chef at The Maisonette. He developed multiple restaurants throughout Greater Cincinnati, including Table, Pigalls, French Crust, and Le Bar a Boeuf.
