Seven years after 14-year-old Cameron Franklin was shot and killed in Lower Price Hill, his father, William Franklin, is still seeking justice. Cameron was killed on July 7, 2019, after leaving a party at the former St. Michael’s Church on St. Michael Street. Cincinnati police say someone inside a passing vehicle opened fire, striking the teenager.
A Plea for Information
Despite years of investigation, no one has been arrested in connection with Cameron’s death. William Franklin remembers his son as a fun-loving teenager who enjoyed sports, spending time with friends, and making people laugh. He believes someone knows what happened and is urging them to come forward.
Police have long said they do not believe Cameron was the intended target. In a 2022 Cincinnati Police homicide podcast, Detective John Horn said investigators found no indication of conflict at the party before the shooting. The firearm used to kill Cameron was later linked to three additional shootings that same year, but no arrests have been made in Cameron’s homicide.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
