Dallas families and food lovers gathered on Oct. 1 for Casa Cholula, a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month hosted by the iconic Cholula sauce brand. The event took place at MesoMaya, a downtown Dallas restaurant housed in the historic 1938 Luna Tortilla Factory building.
Chef‑crafted menu highlights local flavor
James Beard semifinalist and Dallas native Chef Anastacia Quiñones‑Pittman designed a special menu that paired Cholula’s signature sauces with regional Mexican dishes. Attendees sampled short‑rib tacos topped with Cholula Chipotle Cremosa, spicy glazed shrimp served over pozole‑style grits seasoned with Cholula Chili Garlic, and a variety of passed bites such as chicken tinga sopes, citrus shrimp ceviche tostadas, and elote cups.
A nacho bar let guests customize plates with an array of Cholula hot sauces and cremosas, while the bar offered margaritas, ranch waters and non‑alcoholic spicy palomas rimmed with Cholula Chili Lime Seasoning.
Interactive experiences and giveaways
Guests could personalize their own Cholula bottles at a custom engraving station and browse a market table featuring the brand’s full product line. Each participant left with a goodie bag stocked with Cholula sauces and related merchandise, primed for the upcoming fall hosting and tailgating season.
“At its heart, Cholula has always stood for authentic Mexican flavor, and flavor like that is meant to be shared,” said Carly Magnotta, Senior Brand Marketing Manager at Cholula. “There was no better place to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month than MesoMaya, a restaurant that honors Mexican cooking and tradition every day. With the holidays around the corner, we hope Casa Cholula inspires full tables, family recipes, good company and plenty of Cholula all season long.”
