Mia Bieniemy, wife of Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, is recovering after being shot by their son, Elijah Zion Bieniemy, at their home in Ashburn, Virginia.

Update from Andy Reid

Andy Reid, the Chiefs’ head coach, provided an update on Mia’s condition, stating that she is doing great and has been moved out of the ICU unit. Eric Bieniemy has been by her side throughout her recovery.

Elijah Zion Bieniemy, 27, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and discharge of a firearm inside a dwelling. He is being held without bond at the Loudon County Adult Detention Center.
