Cheyenne is gearing up to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States on July 4th. The city has planned a full day of events, starting with a patriotic parade at 9:00 AM.
Celebration Schedule
The festivities will include food trucks and activities at 12:00 PM, a Capitol Ceremony with a Color Guard, Governor’s Address, and Flyover at 1:00 PM, live music, speaker series, and cultural performances in the afternoon, a Jalan Crossland performance at 7:30 PM, a Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra performance at 8:30 PM, and a fireworks finale at 9:45 PM.
Event organizers Nathaniel Trelease and Sean Ambrose recently spoke with Townsquare Media about the Capital City Celebration. Trelease mentioned that he was approached by Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins in September 2024 to head up the celebration. Ambrose, who was the music coordinator in Laramie County School District #1 for 27 years, will be involved in the music aspects of the event.
The parade will have a heavy military emphasis, including marching formations, military machines, local dignitaries, and six musical groups, including at least three marching bands. Governor Gordon will formally kick off the celebration between 1 and 2 p.m. on the steps of the state capitol.
