Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve made history by becoming the WNBA’s all-time leader in regular-season wins. Reeve achieved this milestone after her team’s 86-80 win over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday.
Reeve’s Coaching Style
Reeve’s players praise her coaching style, which emphasizes trust, honest conversations, and a focus on the players. Lynx guard Kayla McBride said, “Cheryl’s not that type of coach. She doesn’t like the attention. She likes to win.”
Reeve’s 380th regular-season win pushed her past the mark set by former Sun and Washington Mystics coach Mike Thibault. Antonia Delaere, who has played for both Reeve and Thibault, said, “I love how they both teach. It’s something that not all coaches are doing, but they really teach you. Every time I come to a practice, I learn something new.”
The Lynx will look to continue their winning streak with a four-game homestand starting on Saturday against the Liberty.
