Central Florida is embracing Pride Month with a series of events that highlight community, remembrance, and celebration. While Pride Month is nationally recognized in June, Central Florida’s largest celebration occurs in October. However, June still offers a vibrant array of activities for those looking to participate.

One Magical Weekend

Taking place from June 4 to June 8 at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista Resort, One Magical Weekend is a hallmark event at Walt Disney World Resort. It features five days of entertainment, including pool parties and DJ events. Participants are encouraged to wear red on Saturday to honor the first unofficial ‘Gay Day’ at Magic Kingdom.

Girls in Wonderland

From June 4 to June 6, Winter Garden hosts the Girls in Wonderland festival at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott & TownePlace Suites. This event caters to queer women with concerts, dance parties, and comedy shows.

The Pride Cup

Sports enthusiasts can join The Pride Cup from June 5 to June 7 at Hyatt Place Orlando/Lake Buena Vista. This annual sports competition includes golf, soccer, and more, welcoming athletes of all levels.

CommUNITY Rainbow Run

On June 6, the 10th Annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run takes place at City Hall Plaza in Orlando. The 4.9K race, initiated by UCF students in 2017, commemorates the Pulse tragedy victims and aims to foster community healing.

Resilience Concert

On June 7, the Central Florida Sounds of Freedom Band & Guard celebrates its 15th anniversary with a concert at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, reflecting on themes of hope and resilience.

Art With Purpose

On June 12, the Orlando Museum of Art hosts ‘Art With Purpose,’ a free event for LGBTQ+ youth aged 14 to 24. Attendees can explore the museum’s collection and create their own art.

Pulse Remembrance Ceremony

Also on June 12, the First United Methodist Church of Orlando holds a remembrance ceremony for the Pulse tragedy victims, featuring performances by the Orlando Gay Chorus.

These events showcase Central Florida’s commitment to diversity and community, offering something for everyone during Pride Month.
