After more than a decade leading the Casper Housing Authority, CEO Kim Summerall-Wright will retire July 31. The Casper Housing Authority Board of Commissioners announced Summerall-Wright’s retirement, recognizing her 13 years of leadership and the organization’s growth during her tenure.
Expansion of Affordable Housing
Since joining the housing authority in 2013, Summerall-Wright oversaw a significant expansion of affordable housing in Casper. She led Wyoming’s first U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Rental Assistance Demonstration project and helped increase the agency’s housing portfolio from 75 to 274 affordable housing units.
Summerall-Wright also led the creation of CHA CARES, the nonprofit arm of the Casper Housing Authority that provides supportive services for residents and members of the community. Among the major projects completed during Summerall-Wright’s leadership were the redevelopment of the historic CentrePointe Apartments, construction of Raven Crest and Liberty Square Apartments, management of the Life Steps Campus, and the recent acquisition and management of the Wyoming National Apartments.
