Cary is hosting a Save-A-Life event to bring attention to the importance of sparkler safety, particularly with the busy holiday weekend ahead. The event will feature the story of Ginger Peters, a woman whose life was forever changed following a sparkler-related fire, and her road to recovery.
Sparkler Safety Concerns
Fire and medical personnel, including the State Fire Marshall, will join doctors and nurses to discuss the importance of firework safety and explore the hidden dangers of sparklers. Sparklers burn at temperatures exceeding 2,000 degrees and can cause life-changing injuries in seconds.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. at Cary Fire Station #9, located at 1427 Walnut Street.
