Carowinds, a theme park located on the North Carolina-South Carolina state line, will open a record-breaking log flume ride in 2027. The new ride, called Rip Roarin’ Falls, will feature a 100-foot drop, the tallest drop on any log flume ride in the world.
Ride Details
Rip Roarin’ Falls will be 2,240 feet long, reach a top speed of 50 miles per hour, and last six-and-a-half minutes. The ride will be themed around an abandoned, haunted lumber mill.
The new ride will be built on the site of Carowinds’ former raft ride, Rip Roarin’ Rapids, which operated from 1982 to 2019. Carowinds has been without a log flume ride since the closure of Powder Keg Log Flume in 2009.
According to Carowinds President Bridgette Bywater, the new ride is a testament to the park’s commitment to bringing legendary attractions and world-class experiences to the Carolinas. The ride will have a 35-inch height requirement, making it accessible for families.
