Search and rescue response
Carnival Cruise Line confirmed that the guest was reported missing around 11 a.m. after announcements were made to passengers. The ship’s crew immediately began a shipwide search, directing guests to remain in their staterooms while security scanned identification cards—a standard safety measure during such events.
According to the company’s statement, the crew reviewed onboard CCTV footage, which confirmed that the guest had gone overboard. The captain and cruise director announced the confirmation at about 5 p.m., noting that local authorities would continue the search and rescue operation.
