Riley Hennessey, a former Camas High School football player, was honored with a documentary film about his career at the Liberty Theater in Camas. The film, titled ‘Project Euro, the Riley Hennessey story,’ was shown to a packed audience of family, friends, and former coaches.
Hennessey’s Football Career
Hennessey, who graduated from Camas High School in 2014, went on to play football in Europe, leading three teams to championships in different divisions. He won an Italian championship with the Parma Panthers, a German bowl with the Schwabisch Hall Unicorns, and a European League of Football championship with the Stuttgart Surge in 2025.
The documentary film was created by Nick Alfieri, a former teammate and friend of Hennessey’s. Alfieri initially set out to create a 10-minute highlight reel of Hennessey’s professional career but ended up creating a full-length documentary after discovering a wealth of archived video and interviews.
Hennessey was visibly moved by the tribute, holding back tears as he addressed the audience. ‘This is more than I could have ever expected,’ he said. ‘I’m just a kid from a little mill town. To have this much support through a silly game truly means a lot.’
The event was a celebration of Hennessey’s football career and a chance for the community to come together and show its appreciation for one of its own.
