A Bay Area couple, Megan Kao and Michael Zuccarino, are seeking the community’s help to find their 3-year-old mini Australian shepherd, Luca, who went missing more than a month ago near Laguna Seca Golf Course in Monterey, California.
The Search Efforts
The couple had brought Luca along for a day trip to the Central Coast and left him with a pet sitter while they explored. However, minutes later, they received a call saying Luca had run away.
Luca was last seen on June 26, and his owners have stayed in the area ever since, determined to find him. They have tried various methods to locate Luca, including posting on Nextdoor, where their story caught the attention of strangers who decided to help.
The owners are asking anyone who thinks they see Luca not to chase or call his name, as he is likely frightened. Instead, they should pull out their phone and snap a picture or video so the owner can know if it’s theirs or not, and then report it through their Nextdoor page or the SPCA.
The couple is offering a reward for Luca’s return and remains hopeful that they will be reunited with their dog.
