Alabama linebacker Caleb Woodson has been named to the Butkus Award Watchlist in his first season with the Crimson Tide, Alabama Football announced on X. Woodson, a senior, played the previous three seasons at Virginia Tech before joining the Crimson Tide in January.

Woodson is among 51 players named to the Watchlist for the Butkus Award, presented annually to the top linebacker in college football. He has already secured a starting inside linebacker spot and appeared in 35 games across 3 seasons in Blacksburg, where he recorded 152 career tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, three pass breakups, and one interception.
Alabama has had four previous winners of the Butkus Award: Derrick Thomas (1988), Rolando McClain (2009), C.J. Mosley (2013), and Reuben Foster (2016).
