Isabella Baltov, a senior at Caddo Magnet, has been recognized as the Gatorade Girls’ Soccer Player of the Year in Louisiana. Baltov scored 174 times in her Caddo Magnet career, a Caddo Parish record, with 54 of those goals and 17 assists coming in her senior season.
Award Recognition
Baltov was surprised to receive the award, having not heard anything about it for several weeks after submitting her application. She immediately shared the news with her dad, Radi, and Lady Mustangs head coach Nick Flowers, who have both been instrumental in her development as a player.
Baltov credits her dad and coach Flowers for her success, saying she “really owes it all to them.” She also reflected on the significance of winning the award, given that her dad was the coach when Caddo Magnet won the state championship in 2008, the year she was born.
Baltov will continue her soccer journey at McNeese State this fall. She believes that the individual accolades she received were not won alone, but were the result of her team’s hard work and dedication. She described her senior season as her favorite year of high school soccer, citing the close bond she formed with her teammates as a key factor in their success.
