Byrum Brown, the former University of South Florida (USF) quarterback, recently reflected on his time at the university. Brown, who transferred to Auburn, expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he had while playing for USF.

USF Experience

Brown stated that his time at USF was a blessing and that it prepared him for his current role at Auburn. He became the 12th quarterback in FBS history to throw for 3,000 yards and rush 1,000 in a single season, a feat he achieved in 2025 while leading the nation in total offense.

Brown also set or equaled 28 USF records during his time at the university. He earned a degree from USF and was grateful for the opportunity to continue playing for coach Alex Golesh and other teammates who also transferred to Auburn.

Transfer to Auburn

Brown decided to transfer to Auburn after coach Golesh took over at USF. He stated that the decision was made with his parents and the Lord, and that he wanted to follow a coach who had believed in him since he was 18. Brown also mentioned that having many familiar faces with him on the Plains has made the assimilation process much easier.
