SHREVEPORT, La. – The countdown is on for the KTBS 3 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. With fewer than three weeks left before the drawing, organizers are urging locals to buy their $100 tickets by Friday to qualify for an extra incentive: a year’s worth of groceries.
Community‑driven fundraising for St. Jude
The Last Chance Prize is funded by the Dream Day Foundation, a nonprofit that raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through events, advocacy and direct donations. Tiffany Graves, executive director of the foundation, emphasized that community support is essential for St. Jude to provide free treatment, travel, housing and meals to families battling childhood cancer and other serious illnesses.
“It takes the community to come together so that St. Jude can fulfill its mission,” Graves said. “Your $100 ticket helps support children and families receiving care through St. Jude, including those connected to clinics in Louisiana.”
What’s at stake?
The centerpiece of the fundraiser is the Dream Home, a two‑story residence in Bossier City’s Lakeview subdivision valued at roughly $715,000. The home features four bedrooms, an outdoor kitchen and a media loft, and will be awarded to one lucky ticket holder during the drawing.
In addition to the Dream Home, ticket buyers who purchase before the deadline will automatically enter the Last Chance Prize giveaway—a full year of groceries. “Everybody needs groceries,” Graves explained. “We’re hoping that prize encourages people to reserve their ticket before the deadline, so they don’t miss their chance to win.”
How to get involved
The Dream Home is open for public tours this weekend, giving residents a chance to see the property before the drawing. While there, visitors can also register for a separate open‑house prize: a $5,000 shopping spree at Ivan Smith Furniture.
Organizers expect tickets to sell out before the drawing and are urging anyone interested to act quickly. Those who buy a $100 ticket before Friday’s deadline will be eligible for both the Dream Home drawing and the grocery giveaway.
