The Buffalo Police Department is preparing for one of Johnson County’s busiest weekends as Longmire Days begins on Thursday, July 16. City of Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett said officers have been working with Longmire Days organizers to help ensure a safe experience.
Preparations Underway
According to Chief Bissett, the organizers are very open and have a well-planned event. The police department will be providing support staff, and they will be visible during events such as autograph sessions, talent shows, and the street dance. The department’s biggest concern is the race, parade, and street dance, which require road closures.
